North Frisian Ferries

North Frisia ferry timetable

Every connection in the region in one place. Watch the operating period - year-round sailings run only from Dagebüll and Schlüttsiel plus the Pellworm ferry from Nordstrand; the services between the islands pause from early November until late March. Always pick the exact day you plan to travel.

Date

Which connection are you after?

The timetable above brings all the North Frisian routes together, and they follow very different rhythms. Dagebüll is the main gateway: the Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei sails from here to Föhr and Amrum all year round, regardless of season and with more departures than anywhere else in the network.

Nordstrand - Pellworm is the second year-round route and the only link to that island. It runs to a fixed schedule, through the winter half of the year as well.

From Schlüttsiel the boats serve the Halligen. The line runs all year, but not every day in the winter half, and on some weekdays the ship stays in port. For the Halligen, check the exact day you want to travel.

What to watch out for in the timetable

The first thing is the season. Only the routes from Dagebüll and Schlüttsiel and the Pellworm ferry from Nordstrand are scheduled all year. The connections between the islands and the sailings to Heligoland rest over the winter half, so if the timetable shows nothing for your date, that is almost always the reason.

The second is the tides. The harbours lie in the Wadden Sea and can only be reached at sufficient water level, so departures shift from one day to the next. Do not carry a time over from one day to another; pick your exact date in the timetable above.

And not every connection is a direct sailing. Some of the routes shown are through tickets with a change of vessel. Which ones those are is set out in the questions below the timetable.

FAQ

Common questions about the timetable

Why is there no departure for my date? +

Most likely the season. Adler-Schiffe operates 42 of the 56 routes in this region, and their 2026 timetable ends on 1 November. The new season is not published until spring. Year-round services are Dagebüll - Föhr - Amrum, the hallig routes from Schlüttsiel and the ferry Nordstrand - Pellworm.

How far ahead does the published timetable reach? +

For the Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei routes to 12 December 2026; the next timetable period starts on 13 December 2026. The Pellworm ferry from Nordstrand is published to 31 December 2026. For the Adler-Schiffe line, depending on the route, to 21 October (Heligoland), 29 October (Pellworm) or 1 November 2026.

Why do I find nothing on the hallig line on some days? +

Because it does not sail daily in the winter half-year. Between Schlüttsiel, Hooge and Langeneß the MS Hilligenlei stays in port on Mondays and Wednesdays; on Saturdays and Sundays there is one sailing instead of two.

Are the connections shown direct sailings? +

Not all of them. The MS Adler-Express routes and the Heligoland sailings from Amrum and Hörnum are direct. Connections from Föhr and Dagebüll into the Adler network, and the remaining Heligoland services, are through-tickets with a change of vessel.

Why is no fare shown next to the departures? +

Because the price depends on ticket type, age and vehicle, and changes with the season. You will see it at the operator's booking step - more on the fare structure on the fares page.
