Season and timetable

Which connections run in winter?+

Only the Dagebüll - Föhr - Amrum triangle of the Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei. The published timetable there reaches to 12 December 2026, and the next timetable period begins on 13 December 2026.

When does the Adler-Schiffe season end?+

On 1 November in 2026; the season began on 28 March. Sailings to Heligoland end as early as 21 October, to Pellworm on 29 October, and Pellworm-Heligoland already on 28 September. The operator does not publish the following season until spring - until then nothing is in the timetable for 2027.

How many connections are there in total?+

Twenty-four connections between eight ports, or 48 routes counting both directions. Six of them run year-round, 42 in the summer half-year only.

Why do the departure times change?+

The ports lie in the Wadden Sea, and the MS Adler-Express line calls at several of them in sequence - so the time at your port depends on where the vessel was before. Day-by-day times are in the timetable.

Connections and changing vessel

Can I travel from island to island?+

In the summer half-year, yes - and that is what makes this region special. The MS Adler-Express links Hörnum on Sylt, Amrum, the Hallig Hooge, Nordstrand and Pellworm. Between Föhr and Amrum the W.D.R. also sails year-round.

Which connections are direct sailings?+

The MS Adler-Express routes, the MS Adler CAT sailings to Heligoland from Amrum and Hörnum, and all W.D.R. routes. Everything running from Föhr or Dagebüll into the Adler network, and the remaining Heligoland services, are through-tickets with a change of vessel.

How do I get to Heligoland?+

Directly only from Amrum (85 minutes) and Hörnum (two and a half hours), each once a day until 21 October 2026. From every other North Frisian port with a change of vessel. The mainland feeder services from Cuxhaven, Hamburg and Brunsbüttel are on faehren-helgoland.de.

Does Sylt belong to this site?+

Only through the port of Hörnum at the southern tip, from which the Wadden Sea services depart. The car ferry from Rømø to List in the north of the island is covered on faehre-sylt.de - it runs year-round and is the alternative to the car-carrying train.

How do I reach the halligen outside the season?+

Via Schlüttsiel on the mainland coast. The Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei runs those hallig sailings year-round; timetable and booking go through them directly and are not part of our timetable.

Tickets, fares, vehicles

What does the crossing cost?+

It depends on the route, the operator and the ticket type - there is no joint tariff here. The binding price is the one at the booking step; everything else worth knowing is on the fares page.

Can I take my car?+

It depends on the vessel: the Wadden Sea lines are excursion and catamaran services, the ferries from Dagebüll are not. Clarify carriage and surcharge with the operator before booking.
